Podcast series: Advent with Kat Healy, ep. 2

The latest episode of our short Advent series podcast with Kat Healy. This week Kat shares the story of St Nicholas and her early childhood memories of enjoying the feast of St Nicholas in Celle, Germany. These memories inspired her poem, 'Sankt Nikolaus', which she reads for us.

I have many vivid memories of enjoying the traditions of St Nicholas and spending time at the Christmas market on the 6th of December with my family in Germany. It's always fun exploring persona and voice through poetry. It can be a great tool to avoid being overly sentimental when approaching emotive content. (Kat Healy)

You can also enjoy the next verse and chorus of "Light the Advent Candle (Advent Song)" (Mary Lu Walker), sung by Kat, for her upcoming EP.
