About

Hi, welcome to The Fidra Collection. I'm Kat Healy, a Scottish singer-songwriter, artist and poet. I founded The Fidra Collection as a space to inspire and uplift through creative practice.
I've spent fifteen years working in the creative industries, releasing my own music and touring independently as a singer-songwriter. In 2020 I was fortunate to receive my Master's Degree in Creative Writing with a distinction.
During the pandemic, I reflected on how best to move my work online to educate and inspire others using their own creativity.
'The Fidra Collection' is a space for me to showcase my own artwork and poetry, and to host creative workshops.
A hub of creative inspiration, encouragement and practice.
I have been singing, painting and writing since I was a child - it's all I've ever wanted to do, and the practice keeps me happy and healthy.
I am passionate about encouraging others to discover their own creativity. I believe that creative practice is not about being the best at any one thing or skill. It's about embracing an act of imagination that engages the mind to uplift your mood. Creative practice offers a healthy distraction from the daily routine, the dreaded 'doom scroll' of social media, and opens the door to a personal path of joy.
Supporting local creatives is at the very heart of what I want to do. As much as possible, I will continue to work with local suppliers for my art workshops and highlight the incredible, unique talent around Scotland.
I will continue to produce my Giclée prints in a carbon-neutral, ethical way, and my original paintings using as many eco-friendly options as possible.
The name, 'The Fidra Collection,' was inspired by my walks along the blustery East Lothian coast with Ted the Tank, my giant Greyhound.

Please enjoy browsing my print design collections as well as my original pieces. I'm also available for commissions. My custom pet portraits are a popular gift choice (I can illustrate humans/families too), simply email me at fidracollection @ gmail.com to discuss options.
This winter and spring, I'm looking forward to hosting a series of watercolour workshops at the Scout Hall (Gullane Village Association) in Gullane, by the sea. No experience necessary! Simply come along and have fun.
To book, visit >> Watercolour Workshops. A series of fun, relaxing workshops exploring watercolour in a creative, accessible way (starting 22nd Jan. monthly Saturdays and Thursday evenings, 10:00).
